1. What is the best way to cleanse
your face?
We recommend cleansing your face mornings
and evenings with one of our water-soluble
cleansers or scrub according to skin
type.
It is always best to use a toner or
astringent after cleansing to rebalance
your skin.
2. What do I do to protect my skin
from the sun?
No matter the season or the climate
you should always protect your skin
from the sun. Apply sunscreen after
you nourish your skin in the morning.
Let the sunscreen set before applying
your make-up. Be aware that as you
sweat or swim the sunscreen dissolves
so you might have to reapply.
NOTE:
Using Vitamin C in an external skincare
product will give you a much higher
protection from the sun as well.
This takes place in the deeper layers
of the skin and can't be washed or
rubbed off.
3. What do I do to maintain a healthy
well balanced skin?
After your daily cleansing routine,
nourish your skin with the appropriate
serum and moisturizer to maintain
a healthy looking skin. (see
chart)
Consult a skin care professional
every 4-8 weeks and eat a well balanced
diet and take multi-vitamins. Healthy
skin is not just about topical intervention
but needs to include the entire body
and well being of the person.
4. Can I fix damage that resulted
from frequent sun exposure?
The general rule of thumb is that
it takes as long to repair damage
as it did to create the damage. There
are many things that we can now do
to help alleviate and in some cases
repair existing sun damage. For milder
damage the simple act of the topical
application of restorative products
and the prevention of any further
damage has shown great results We
recommend: Lipo C Plus which contains
vitamin C to build your natural collagen
and "DNA" or "DNA
Plus" to repair your skin. (See
Chart)
For more severe damage it is recommended
that you consult a Dermatologist.
5. I just had micro-dermabrasion
or laser peel what product do you
recommend?
The Collagen 2000 is an excellent
product to encourage wound healing.
It has also been beneficial in the
treatment of burn patients, post
procedural irritation and scarring.
Collagen 2000 hydrates the skin,
attracts moisture and aids the skin
in its ability to retain moisture.
The DNA and DNA PLUS helps rebuild
skin by nourishing skin cells.
(DNA for oily/acne skin. DNA PLUS
for dry and/or mature skin.) Both
of these serums can be used after
a peeling or acid peels, and it improves
damaged skin.
During the actual procedure we recommend
the Phyto/Moor Mask as the final
step to help cool the skin and help
the healing process.
6. Can I put products on together
or do I have to put them on separately.
Our products may be applied together
and layering is encouraged. Wilma
Schumann Skin Care recommends applying
one of our moisturizers last because
it will form a barrier on the skin
to hold in moisture. Lipo “C” Plus
should be applied preferably in the
morning after cleansing the skin.
After application allow the product
to be absorbed into the skin. Glycolic
10 should be applied only at night
after cleansing.
7. What products
do you suggest for acne?
O2 Oxygen Blu - powerful antibacterial
effect. Acne bacteria cannot live
in an oxygen rich enviornment present
in
the O2 Oxygen Blu.
Glycolic 10 - helps clear the pores
of acne prone skin and exfoliates
dead and damaged skin cells, but
is not recommended for red, aggravated
breakouts.
DNA - especially
formulated as a repair treatment
for oily, acne or
damaged skin. Derived from the Salomon
Roe (caviar), this substance provides
the skin with the building blocks
naturally used by the skin cells
in rebuilding healthy tissue.
The Solution - has ability to disinfect
and assist the skin in its healing
process.
